Marine Enlisted Commissioning Education
Program (MECEP)
Background
MECEP students ARE NOT in the Corps of Cadets, nor do they have to participate
in Corps of Cadets activities.
Note: Texas A&M University requires
the SAT I or ACT with writing component for freshman application.
MECEP Marine transfer applicants may
enhance their application with a competitive score on the SAT I or
ACT with writing component.

Texas A&M

for a full time student is about $8,000 per year. That's right, per
year. Many universities cost more per semester! Furthermore,
all military personnel stationed in Texas qualify for in-state tuition.
The GI Bill-Active Duty completely covers all tuition and fees for
Texas A&M University. Many scholarships and grants are available
to help offset other costs.

Officer of Marines. With an average of sixty Marines and Midshipmen
pursuing Marine commissions, four Marines on staff, and a wealth
of training resources such as obstacle and land navigation courses, an
indoor pistol
range and other assets, we are able to conduct focused, relevant
training to prepare you for the rigors of OCS, TBS, and beyond. The
large number of Marines in the MECEP at TAMU ensures that you do not get
lost in the
crowd and fosters the camaraderie and esprit that drew most of us
to the Marine Corps in the first place. TAMU graduates enjoy a reputation

Understanding that your
primary goals are a quality education and commission, we want you
to focus on your degree and earn

family or social life. You may be asked to teach BST-type classes occasionally,
and there are one or two weekend events per semester, but your
schedule will not be filled with unnecessary activities.
